To encourage movement and the mobility of our members, we try to involve them in joint activities and make use of their talents and capabilities. With hikes, walks and other sports activities ( nordic walking, swimming… ). But also with visits to the cinema and exhibitions. We aim to get affected people fit again and ready to take charge of their lives.
We want to achieve that our members are out and about in the fresh air, encourage a sense of community and hopefully get some of them out of their lethargy. In our view ist a step to reintroduce people to a socially more integrated life. From a medical point of view most of the people with HIV/AIDS are quite healthy. What we have to achieve now, is to get people to have a social life again.
Due to the available triple haart therapy, it has become possible to live with the virus for many years, sadly offen without perspective to get back to work. Often on a low income, offen near the poverty line.
To make our activities even more appealing, we usually stop off somewhere for a snack or a drink. We are hoping this will dissolve any reluctance of being in public places and make affected people ready for an independent and self reliant life.
